The
maintenance department is responsible for the upkeep and maintenance
of 361 GMHA-owned public housing units. Utilizing work order procedures,
the maintenance department provides routine, preventative, and emergency
maintenance work to ensure decent, safe, and sanitary housing for
GMHA residents. In addition to work orders, maintenance staff is
also responsible for preparing vacant units for occupancy and performing
all annual inspections and related repairs.
The
maintenance department plans to offer residents a home maintenance
educational opportunity, which is currently being piloted in the
Moving To Work Demonstration. Maintenance staff members will instruct
a series of home maintenance classes, which will address basic home
maintenance concerns such as drywall repair and basic plumbing and
electrical issues. Residents interested in participating should
call GMHA for more information.
Residents
who want to place a work order for their unit should call GMHA during
office hours, Monday through Friday from 8:00 a.m. to 4:00 p.m.
(937-376-2908). Emergencies
are the only items responded to after-hours or on weekends. In
the event of an after-hours emergency, residents should call 937-376-0545
or 937-229-8798.
