May 1, 2008 - GMHA closes Section 8 Housing
Choice Voucher!!!
Section 8 HCV accepting applications only for the following: Homeless individual and families - staying in a shelter (emergency or transitional) or living on the street or in a place not meant for human habitation – may continue to apply to the Section 8 Housing Choice Voucher wait list. They will need to turn in a form to document homelessness at the time the application is submitted or the application will not be accepted. Homeless individuals and families will need to have a GMHA form to document homelessness signed by the emergency or transitional shelter where they are staying.
Public Housing, Yellow Springs' Village Greene and Sensible Shelter wait lists will continue to be open and accepting applications.
APPLICATION PROCEDURE
Thoroughly complete the application and return it to:
Greene Metropolitan Housing Authority
538 North Detroit Street
Xenia OH 45385
With your application, please include the following:
- Copies
of Social Security cards for all family members
- Copies
of Birth Certificates for all family members
- Picture
ID for all family members age 18 or older
Once you have:
- Fully
completed and returned the application to GMHA with proper back-up
information
- Established
that you are within the income limits
- GMHA
has received three acceptable landlord/professional references (for the
Low Rent Program)
You will be notified in writing that you have been placed on the waiting list.
